I painted Chicky dressed up for Halloween.
I drew this 2 years ago (see evidence). I pushed myself to color it so I had at least one product for my online store.
I experimented with flat cell shading. It dramatically cut painting time. On the other hand, I cannot help feeling I overcomplicated the style by introducing 3 shades and rim lighting for the hat.
I am working on the Dragon Ball x Avengers painting in a similar style. Please look forward to it.
Last week I finally finished drawing all the pieces I want for the Dragon Ball x MCU mini-project.
It has been tough. I lost a large chunk of motivation sometime late October 2020. Looking back, I made the mistake of visiting characters I didn't care so much visually, like Black Widow and Hawkeye. Their banter was great in the films, but their costumes are not that iconic in my opinion.
The last drawing was especially tough because I did not believe in my idea. My idea originally was to draw Dr Brief, Bulma's dad, as War Machine. I drew him twice before I realized that Dr Brief's build and character were not a good match for War Machine. After some thought, Android 16 came to mind and I was much happier with this idea.
Still, drawing mechanical parts was tough.
Next is coloring. I think it will be better for me to simplify the coloring and redo the first three color pieces. We will see. Meanwhile, enjoy this Ninja Kid based on what I remembered of Akakage.
